Kamelia Dineva Ms. Young ENG 2D1 Tuesday 5th, October, 2015 Myth Report: Zeus INTRODUCTION For more than 600 years, all the gods, goddesses, and heroes have been under the leadership of one certain god, Zeus (Kinsey 294). The exact time period that Zeus was born or when his ascend to the throne began is not known but there have been pieces of work that had possibly originated from 900 BC (295). There are many opportunities to celebrate the god, yet some that are more culturally tied to Greece are the Olympics. These are held every four years in honour of the god (301). There were other athletic contest that were held solely in honour of Zeus, they were held every two years at Nemea (301). The product that is being endorsed by Zeus is the â€Å"Ruling Remedy†. When someone drinks the potion, the person who drank the potion becomes the leader of all mortals, just like Zeus. The person can make any decisions and can order anyone, and that person has to obey. Eventually the potion will wear off depending on how much of the potion was taken in; when the potion wears off , everything goes back to normal as if no one had ever taken the potion. BACKGROUND It is well known that Zeus has many family connections, especially surrounding his numerous offspring. Among those children are the more known ones that include Athena, often thought to be Zeus’ favourite child, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Heracles, Perseus, and Dionysus (289-300).
